The Narwhal Fund will sponsor projects that support and supplement our children's educational experience. Examples might include anything from basic required supplies, to target language books for the classroom library, or technology. To submit a project for consideration, please use the form below.
As the French Immersion Program Chairperson, Madam Stahl is working diligently to build our School's French program. In our elementary school classrooms, they are using the level readers program called Escalire from Editions Passe-Temps.
These books come from Canada, where a lot of good French immersion materials have been created. The level readers start in Kindergarten and go all the way to 4th grade. This ensures continuity in teaching reading in French to our students. It also makes it easy for teachers to communicate about students' reading progress with each other.
To make sure each class has at least a set of five books per level to work during reading groups the PTA was able to provide a grant to purchase the remaining books.
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship and helps middle-level students develop the knowledge and skills to become well-rounded student leaders in their school, community, and beyond.
NJHS chapters operate in all 50 states and schools around the world, engaging and serving more than one million students. Each year, the average NJHS chapter contributes:
The PTA grant was able to pay for the 2024-2025 registration fee allowing new and continuing members to be apart of the organization at no additional costs to students.
This grant was able to provide a box of reeds for each of the following instruments:
Reeds are a costly necessity for band students and this purchase has helped to offset that cost to those who need it.
In 2nd grade we learn about life cycles through lessons, text, and videos. The missing piece is the hands on learning opportunity. With the egg incubator it will give our 2nd grade students the opportunity to learn and be a part of each step. The eggs will be provided by Mr. Land from his farm (McLawland Farms LLC) and a neighboring farm. With this particular incubator, students will be able to observe the development of the embryo with the egg candler.
With this grant, Mrs. Coqueran was able to purchase an incubator and other supplies. The eggs from McLawland Farms arrived on February 16th; students will now observe and learn about their life-cycle over the next 21 days. After the hatching, these NAWL chicks will go live on Herr Land's farm where students will be able to keep up with their growth and development through photos and video.
